We are preparing a special art installation to remember the "Modern Holy Innocents"—the children of Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, and the DRC, and all those caught in the darkness of war and conflict today.
We are creating a "Flight of Kites" to hang in the church, and we need your help to build it! Kites have long been a symbol of hope and freedom for children in places like Gaza, and we want to fill our building with them to show that these children are seen, loved, and never forgotten by God.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
MAKE: Cut out diamond-shaped kites from white paper or card (roughly the size of your hand or larger).
TAILS: Don't forget to add a little tail made of string, wool, or ribbon! It helps them "fly" and adds movement when we hang them.
WRITE: Feel free to write a prayer, a message of hope, or the name of a place on the back of your kite.
DROP OFF: Bring them to Holy Innocents Church and place them inside on the counter, or in the porch if the church is locked after hours.
This is a project for everyone—children and grown-ups alike. Whether you make one or twenty, you are helping us turn a heartbreaking statistic into a beautiful, poignant sea of wings.
