Food Banks

‘’Did you know?’’ and I must admit I did not, that, “there are more church Food Banks in the UK than McDonald’s outlets.’’  I know, I am a mind of useless information. The fact is one is free and the other creates much more packaging.

Seriously, there are many opinions about Food Banks, but the indisputable facts are, where there is someone or some families in need of food, we have a duty to help where we can. The other fact is we should do everything in our power to reduce food wastage.

In conjunction with Montana residential Care Home, in Great Barton, the church, have moved surplus food to the Vineyard Food Bank for distribution, since before the pandemic. In the last full year, we have moved 2622 Kilos. Saving waste and servicing a need.

We as individuals can also contribute, donating food or money to buy food. Drop off location for both are in our Benefice pew sheet.

Please continue to help where you can and thank you to those who already contribute.
