From Rev'd Manette:
While churches remain closed and we are unable to meet for worship, I invite you to join in with the Church of England initiative 'Thy Kingdom Come'.
Please check out the following link: https://www.thykingdomcome.global/
On this website you can find various prayer and family resources as well as modern worship songs to listen to. Everyone can join in with the worldwide movement of prayer which Archbishops Justin and Sentamu have invited every Christian to be part of. Emma Buchan, Project Director for Thy Kingdom Come writes, “Prayer, and prayer that God would empower all Christians to show and tell of God’s love to all, is always important but maybe none more so than at this time. Whether you have been involved before or not, whether you have planned lots or not had the opportunity to yet, it’s not too late to be involved in this specially adapted Thy Kingdom Come, which starts this Thursday (running through to Pentecost Sunday on 31st May)."
If you are unable to access this or you would like someone to print some of the resources for you, please get in touch with someone on the church contact list and they will be happy to help.
As we are still obliged to observe social distancing, I have come up with a novel way of seeing some of you. Weather permitting, I will be riding round the villages on one or two days every week. We trialled this last week and it was a great success. Many residents came out into the streets and they were very excited to see the two very well-behaved horses. On horseback it is easy to maintain the appropriate distance while catching up with many of you.
This week, on Thursday, 21st and Friday, 22nd we will be riding around Great Barton in the afternoon, and on Friday, 29th May we will be riding around Thurston. Do listen for the sound of hooves on the road and come and say hello to Oriente and Neo.
When we are able to plan ahead a bit more, we are hoping to advertise exact times and the roads which we will be visiting. Details will be posted on Facebook and be emailed round in the usual way. Please get in touch if you can't access these and I will let you know.
Looking forward to seeing you.
Yours in Christ, Rev'd Manette
