For 25 years our Diocese has partnered Kagera Diocese in Tanzania. It is a very poor area, with limited resources to enable the growing of food, low investment internationally and levels of literacy among the lowest in Tanzania. There is poverty of opportunity - Kagera is a largely rural area with very few towns and little employment. Most people scratch a living from the land, But there is great potential. Education and training are needed to teach people new ways of farming and new ways of living, and the church in Kagera is vital and transformative, alleviating poverty through training, resourcing and educating. We share friendship, prayer and experiences with Kagera, and raise funds to help the church in its work. There are leaflets at the back of the Church and information can also be found on During Len,t a plate for donations will be at the back of both our churches and the proceeds of Pancake Day on 5th March will also go towards this. Please support the people of our partner Diocese and give generously.
